Milk ensures a better absorption of minerals from high-fibre food.

Renske Dekkers, Senior Researcher at Research & Development Wageningen

Renske Dekkers works as a senior researcher at FrieslandCampina's Innovation Centre in Wageningen. She led a project about bioavailability; that is, the absorption of nutrients by the body from food, in this case, from milk.

“Bioavailability was a whole new field of research for FrieslandCampina. The project yielded a number of interesting insights. Among other things, that milk plays a role in the absorption of nutrients from the rest of your diet. There is a difference between having a sandwich with a glass of milk or a glass of water.”
