Speak Up

Nourishing integrity

The FrieslandCampina Business Practices for Business Partners and our Compass code of conduct describe the behaviour and mindset we expect of everyone to ensure we all act with integrity and in the best interests of the company. It is not just about what we say but we do – our conduct – that makes the difference. If we, our employees or any third party representing us, do not act in line with the Business Practices, Compass or applicable laws, we encourage you to raise a concern. Help us in living up to our commitment.

Who can use Speak Up?

The Speak Up system can be used by anyone who is impacted by, or business relationship that observes, misconduct by FrieslandCampina. This includes its employees, or business partners or any other third party associated with FrieslandCampina.

Please note that the Speak Up system is not meant for consumer complaints or other generic questions. FrieslandCampina employees can raise their concerns internally by visiting the Speak Up Intranet page where other means of raising concerns are also available.

How can you use the Speak Up system?

The Speak Up system is available 24/7 and in your own language. You can raise a concern by visiting the Speak Up Webservice, which is operated by an independent third party supplier. You will receive an individual case number that allows you to track the progress of your case and provide additional information. Please ensure that you make a note of this number as the team may need to contact you.

In order to facilitate an effective investigation and an adequate response to your concern, please include a detailed description of the incident and supporting evidence. Please note that general allegations cannot be investigated.

What happens after you use Speak Up?

  1. All incoming concerns through the Speak Up Webservice are forwarded to the Ethics & Compliance team of FrieslandCampina located in the Netherlands.
  2. The Ethics & Compliance team makes a first assessment whether it concerns possible misconduct and whether the case is (sufficiently) supported by evidence. You will be informed if your concern will be investigated or if additional information is required.
  3. The team assigns the concern to a case owner for further investigation, depending on the location and nature of the incident.
  4. An investigation will be conducted aimed at fact-finding. Only persons on a need to know basis (e.g. employees interviewed) will be involved in the investigation and the follow up.
  5. After conducting the investigation, the Ethics & Compliance team will decide if any misconduct has taken place, and if so, take action. You will be informed accordingly.
