Erik-Jan ten Hooven works as a talent scout at the FrieslandCampina headquarters in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
“Someone recently asked me whether the safety rules of FrieslandCampina really have effect on me. That made me think and I concluded that they have tremendously positive effect on my work as talent scout, but surprisingly, even more on my personal life. I automatically hold the stair rail, without a telephone in my hand. In other words, I do this at home as well. Also, the incredible ability to just about anywhere reverse into a parking space and I have a better awareness in traffic. Furthermore, before I start working on a job at home, I perform an extra check to verify that there is no electricity, enough space to do the overall work and that the setup is safe.”
The FrieslandCampina’s safety policy unconsciously has a great deal of impact on my own safety awareness.
“While all this sounds perfectly logical, how often do you really take the time to think about this? Because of this question, I was able to conclude that FrieslandCampina’s safety policy unconsciously has a great deal of impact on my own safety awareness. This is the impact our HSE Team has on me and my colleagues.”
