“If you asked me which foodstuff I would take with me when spending a year on a desert island, I would say: milk! Milk contains so many useful elements: moist, proteins, carbohydrates, lots of vitamins and minerals and a bit of fat. I think this would keep me alive the longest.”
“Milk is a wonderful product and that is why I love working at FrieslandCampina. Milk really is nutritious by nature. As a nutritionist I apply my knowledge in various fields, both in connection with products and brands and in a number of unbranded projects. In the development process of a new product I help formulating a nutritional profile. This means that we make sure that the product fits in with the FrieslandCampina Nutrition Standards. And I help marketing with communicating and substantiating the benefits of the product.”
Dairy can do a lot for people!
“When searching Google for an answer to the question whether milk is healthy, you will come across a vast number of contradictory statements. My job is also to phrase science based answers to these statements or questions. And science is on our side! All independent health authorities that advice about healthy nutrition do recommend to take dairy. And that is because milk is nutritious. What worries me is that dairy consumption drops in youngsters between 9 and 18 years of age in, for example, the Netherlands. Also, pregnant women consume often too little dairy to meet their demand for calcium. Taking too little calcium will lead to problems at an advanced age. Protein is important too, in particular for groups with a higher need, such as elderly people. Dairy can do a lot for people!”
