FrieslandCampina’s film 'A New Day' wins Grand Prix at World Media Festival

The film 'A New Day' has won the Grand Prix at the World Media Festival.

The corporate film, which was launched in September 2022, was chosen best out of 764 entries from 33 countries. Besides the Grand Prix, 'A New Day' also won the Grand Award in the Corporate Communications category and gold in the Reputation Management category.

The film 'A New Day' tells the story of young member dairy farmers Annemiek, Arjan and Sandra. They all feel a strong responsibility to 'listen to what the world asks of them' in making their farms more sustainable, but what does this mean for the profession they learned from their parents? And what risks are involved? The film ends with a hopeful message: despite the challenges, this young generation of farmers is ready for change, for a new day.

'A New Day' was produced by 1Camera together with member dairy farmers and scientists connected to Wageningen University & Research. With this honest, intimate film, FrieslandCampina wants to provide insight into the dilemmas of young dairy farmers, caught between the traditions of their parents on the one hand, and the expectations of society on the other.

John-Paul Schuirink, Global Director Corporate Communication: "We are delighted with this recognition for 'A New Day'. The film beautifully and impactfully portrays the challenges, dilemmas, but also the opportunities our dairy farmers face in successfully managing and making their businesses more sustainable. Our member dairy farmers have been at the centre of society for more than 150 years and have always managed to adapt to what society asks of them. That the film has been so well received, by the general public and film experts, underlines that this is widely recognised and acknowledged."
