Today, the Members’ Council of dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina approved the extension of Sybren Attema’s term as Chairman of the dairy cooperative until after the Members’ Council meeting in mid-December 2027. Additionally, the Members’ Council approved the appointment of EY Accountants B.V. as the external auditor for FrieslandCampina, effective from 1 January 2026. It was also announced that the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. has decided to reappoint Hans Janssen for a second term of four years as CFO.
Sybren Attema’s term, originally set to end in November 2025, has been prolonged until after the Members’ Council meeting in December 2027. This extension required an amendment to the Articles of Association, which the Members’ Council approved today.
Sybren Attema stated: “I sincerely appreciate the Members’ Council’s trust and look forward to continuing my work as Chairman. Together, we will focus on a leading FrieslandCampina that provides its members with good earnings now and in the future.”
The term of Sybren Attema as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. has also been extended with the same duration by the Supervisory Board.
Reappointment of Hans Janssen
During the Members’ Council meeting, it was also announced that the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. has decided to reappoint Hans Janssen for a second term of four years as CFO and member of the Executive Board. His first term will end on 1 May 2025, and he has been reappointed until 1 May 2029.
Sybren Attema stated: “Hans Janssen has strengthened FrieslandCampina's financing structure in recent years and he plays a vital role in the Executive Board. With confidence, we have therefore already reappointed Hans for a second term.”
New auditor
The appointment of EY Accountants B.V. is the outcome of a thorough tender process overseen by the Audit & Risk Committee of the Supervisory Board and is in alignment with FrieslandCampina’s policy on auditor independence. The audits of the 2024 and 2025 financial statements will still be conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers Accountants N.V., which has served as FrieslandCampina’s external auditor since January 2016. By the end of 2025, the statutory maximum term of 10 years for publicly listed companies, which FrieslandCampina also follows, will have been reached.
Business update
During a business update, CFO Hans Janssen reported that the company’s strong performance had continued in the second half of the year. As previously indicated, based on these expectations, a subsequent cash payment for member dairy farmers for the year 2024 can be anticipated.
