Our approach to sustainability
At FrieslandCampina, we believe that good nutrition, a resilient income perspective for farmers, and progress on climate and nature should go hand in hand. Together with our member dairy farmers, customers and partners, we work to contribute to all these areas.
Working towards a resilient dairy sector
We nourish millions of people with our dairy products worldwide. We aim to provide high-quality nutrition and support access to dairy products in a wide range of markets, while working to reduce environmental impact across our dairy value chain. Our sustainability approach is organised around three focus areas: Nutrition, People and Planet.
Together with our member dairy farmers, who manage agricultural land, we work to improve the way dairy is produced and processed, so that dairy can continue to play its role in providing nutrition while reducing environmental impact. We focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting initiatives related to nature, biodiversity and regenerative agriculture, improving resource efficiency and strengthening the resilience of dairy farming communities.
We have long-term ambitions across climate, nature and circularity, supported by actions and programmes throughout our value chain. We report transparently on our ambitions, progress and developments through our annual reporting and dedicated topic pages.

As a cooperative, we know that together you can achieve more than on your own. Cooperation and a focus on shared interests are deeply rooted in our cooperative history. We believe in joining forces, sharing knowledge and learning from others who can help us move forward. Within the dairy sector as well as with customers, suppliers, NGOs, governments and academia. With our shared commitment, we work together to strengthen FrieslandCampina for the long term.
