Better nutrition

Better products

At FrieslandCampina, we are continuously improving the nutritional value of our products. To guide this, we apply the FrieslandCampina Global Nutritional Standards (GNS).

The FrieslandCampina Global Nutritional Standards (GNS)

The GNS are nutritional criteria aimed at retaining the natural nutrients in milk and reducing the amounts of calories, fat, sugar and salt in all our products. Additionally we make sure that our product portfolio has a good balance between the number of nourishing products intended for daily use and indulgence products for occasional use. We actively monitor and report our progression.

Since 2015, an 18% increase in the sales volume of consumer products that meet the Global Nutritional Standards has been achieved. In the coming years, we want to continue our efforts to offer healthier products. In order to remain in line with current, international scientific insights into healthy eating, the GNS have been evaluated and tightened based on the Choices International criteria 2019. Based on the tightened criteria, the Global Nutritional Standards Next Level, new targets have been defined towards 2025.

"For product development, we ensure that all of our new products are tested against the Global Nutritional Standards."
