100% circular
Better packaging is one of the priorities of our sustainability programme Nourishing a better planet. On the one hand, we want the packaging to be easily recyclable, but on the other hand, that same recycling should not consume too much energy. This is one of the challenges that we are facing. Above all, we want to make the packaging circular and climate neutral, while at the same time we prevent food from decaying or the ingress of bacteria. One of our goals is that our entire packaging portfolio must be reusable, recyclable or both by 2030. Another goal is for our packaging to be fully circular by 2050, without fossil fuel emissions.
Partnerships and objectives
By 2030, we aim to have 100 percent of our packaging to be recyclable and/or reusable and by 2050 it must be circular and climate-neutral. We collaborate with other parties and have objectives for reducing the environmental impact of packaging.
Plastic Pact NL

Together, 30 major European companies and 13 countries are committed to reducing plastic waste in the years ahead. The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment
Businesses, government authorities and other organisations have joined to tackle plastic waste and pollution.
Recycling for each region
A recycling process requires the cooperation of everyone involved: the packaging producer, the buyer, the customer, the government, sorters and recyclers. Because guidelines and systems vary by region, packaging that can be recycled everywhere is not yet available. We want to change that. This is why we work separately with each region to create optimally recyclable and affordable packaging that guarantees the quality of our dairy products.
Contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
We consider it important to focus on those aspects on which we have a real impact.
