Energy and Water Conservation
We are deeply dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint and conserving natural resources. Through optimized processes and continuous improvement efforts, we have achieved a 3% reduction in water consumption and an impressive 12% decrease in energy consumption, aligning our business strategies with our vision for sustainability.
Solar Power for a Greener future
As part of our commitment to achieving net climate neutrality in dairy production, we have taken significant steps towards adopting sustainable energy practices. This includes the installation of 4MW solar panels at the Sahiwal plant and the utilization of biomass fuel for steam generation. We are also actively supporting farms in transitioning to solar energy, promoting the widespread adoption of renewable energy sources in the dairy sector while realizing cost savings.
Driving Sustainability Together
We have arranged plantation drives, volunteering programs, community engagements, and sustainability trainings in partnership with organizations like WWF and Trashit to encourage environmental consciousness and sustainability discourse among employees and the communities where we operate. In 2025, FCEPL planted more than 17,000 trees in several locations in Pakistan, such as factories, Nara farm, milk collection centers, and our adopted schools. Throughout the year, various engagements, including Environment Day, Earth Day, and Earth Hour celebrations, were held, and employees took part in sustainable actions and shared best practices.
Better Sourcing & Packaging
From sourcing raw materials to packaging finished products, we are adopting sustainable measures to produce in balance with nature.
We source 100% of our milk locally from the dairy farmers of Sindh and Punjab, empowering the local farmer community and inculcating cost and time efficiency. Sugar, cocoa, oils, and other raw materials are also sustainably sourced with global partners that are registered with globally recognized certificates; Rainforest Alliance, Bonsucro, and RSPO. These certifications comply with the global sustainability standards by minimizing the negative impact of sourcing on the local environment, wildlife, and communities.
FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan also owns its waste and lead with sustainable packs. 97% of our packaging is recyclable and further research is being conducted to make it 100% recyclable.
