The Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. has appointed Roel van Neerbos member of the Executive Board with effect from 1 January 2017. Roel van Neerbos will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the business group Consumer Products Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Roel van Neerbos will report to Roelof Joosten, Chief Executive Officer and will be based at the FrieslandCampina central office in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
Until 1 May 2016 Roel van Neerbos served as Chief Executive Officer of Maxeda, a Do-It-Yourself retailer operating more than 350 stores with around 7,000 employees across the Benelux. Before that, he spent eight years at Heinz as President Continental Europe and four years at Mattel as Senior Vice-President Iberia, EEMEA & Latin America based in Spain. During the first 16 years of his career Roel held various executive positions at Procter & Gamble in the Netherlands, Belgium, Yemen and Morocco.
Roel van Neerbos will succeed Gregory Sklikas, who has decided to leave FrieslandCampina with effect from 31 December 2016.
FrieslandCampina’s Central Works Council has been asked to issue an opinion on this proposed change in the composition of the Executive Board.
