Campina invests 10 million euros in Cologne branch
Cologne to focus on strong brands Campina, one of the largest dairy companies in Germany and Europe, wants to invest 10 million euros in the production facility in Cologne in 2008 and 2009. Provided the go-ahead is given by the government, the investment will be primarily aimed at optimising the production of liquid milk and logistics.

Campina wins international PR award
Campina has won a Sabre Award in the ‘Best Benelux campaign’ category. The prize was given for its communication surrounding the launch of the new Campina milk in the Netherlands. The Sabre (Superior Achievement in Branding and Reputation) Award is regarded as the world’s most prestigious prize for excellence in PR and branding. It was presented by the Holmes Group at the Sabre Awards Dinner in Venice on 22 May.

Campina studies options for supplying school fruit
Campina is looking at the possibility of supplying fruit to primary schools in the Netherlands from the beginning of 2009. On 16 May, it will therefore launch a pilot project to provide approximately 1,350 schoolchildren with tubs of fresh sliced fruit. The school fruit project is a new initiative by Campina to help encourage children to embrace a natural, responsible and healthy diet.

Campina’s Open Farm Day attracts more than 75,000 visitors
Record numbers flock to Dutch Campina farms on Whit Monday The public response to Campina’s invitation to ‘look round the farm’ this year attracted record numbers. With over 75,000 inquisitive visitors, the Campina Open Farm Day in the Netherlands was a huge success. On a sunny spring day, the public was told all about what goes into Campina milk. Thousands of enthusiastic visitors also rolled up their sleeves and helped with some of the farmyard chores. The huge popularity of looking at life on a farm wasn’t just restricted to adults, but also attracted younger members of the public. Children were able to run and play in the farmyard, milk a cow, churn butter and of course meet the Campina dairy herd.
