Biogas for FrieslandCampina in the Netherlands
Apart from sustainable pyrolyses oil, FrieslandCampina will also start using biogas to generate steam in its production location in Borculo (the Netherlands). In view of this, the dairy company has entered into a joint venture agreement with Groot Zevert Vergisting (GZV) from Beltrum in the Dutch province of Gelderland. FrieslandCampina will annually buy 8 million m3 biogas from GZV.

Gregory Sklikas, currently member of the Executive Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. and Chief Operating Officer of the Business Group Consumer Products Europe, Middle East & Africa, has decided to leave FrieslandCampina with effect from 31 December 2016.
Subsidy for sustainable generation of energy using manure from dairy farms
Henk Kamp, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, gave the starting signal for Cooperative Jumpstart. He did this by putting the first standard manure mono-fermentation system into operation at dairy farm Sassinga of the Heeg family in Hinnaard in the Dutch province of Friesland. Jumpstart is a cooperative providing technical assistance to dairy farmers with respect to the installation and use of manure mono-fermentation systems.

The Board of the Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. and the Executive Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. propose to the member dairy farmers to increase the outdoor grazing premium to 1.50 euro per 100 kg milk.
Rotterdam school-agers on an exploratory journey
The second group of pupils of the Jan Prinsschool, the Montessorischool and the Valentijn School will go and investigate 'The World of Taste' coming Monday 3 October. They will learn about taste and tasting, go and inquire the 'Market Hall' and experiment with new tastes and ingredients for milk and yoghurt shakes ('Make Your Shake').

The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price for raw milk for October 2016 is 29.25 euros per 100 kilogrammes of milk. The guaranteed price for increases with 3.00 euros compared to September.
