Higher profit on lower revenue in turbulent year
The profit of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. in 2016 increased by 5.5 percent to 362 million euros in comparison to the previous year. The operating profit declined by 2.3 percent to 563 million euros.

Today, FrieslandCampina Investments Holding B.V., a subsidiary of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V., sold its 8.2 percent shares in Synlait Milk Ltd. for 32 million euros.

FrieslandCampina is investigating the sale of its fruit juices and fruit drinks manufacturer Riedel
Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. is investigating the sale of Riedel, market leader in the field of fruit juices and fruit drinks in the Netherlands. The brand portfolio of Riedel includes familiar brands, such as Appelsientje, CoolBest, DubbelFrisss, Taksi and Extran. Riedel is located in Ede and has its own production and packaging facilities.
Guaranteed price for March 2017 36.00 euros
The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price for raw milk for March 2017 is 36.00 euros per 100 kilogrammes of milk. The guaranteed price increases with 1.00 euro compared to February (35.00).
Organic guaranteed price for March 2017 47.25 euros
The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price for organic raw milk for March 2017 is 47.25 euros. The organic guaranteed price for March decreases by 0.75 euros compared to February (48.00).
Termination of temporary FrieslandCampina standstill measure as from 1 March 2017
FrieslandCampina implemented a temporary standstill on 9 January 2017. This measure was taken in the run-up to the phosphate reduction plan aimed at preventing the milk supply from increasing in relation to the year 2016. The temporary measure has resulted in a stabilisation of the total milk supply by the member dairy farmers in January 2017 with respect to December 2016. The temporary FrieslandCampina standstill measure will terminate on 1 March 2017.
Biogas supply to FrieslandCampina Borculo has started
Since 7 February 2017, FrieslandCampina has made use of biogas in its plant in Borculo for generating steam used for the production of milk powder and ingredients for infant nutrition. For this, the dairy company has entered into a joint venture agreement with Groot Zevert Vergisting (GZV) from Beltrum in the Dutch province of Gelderland. FrieslandCampina will buy 8 million m3 biogas from GZV annually. This will reduce the CO2 emission by about 8,000 tonnes on an annual basis.
CEO FrieslandCampina meets with Prime Minister of Pakistan
FrieslandCampina CEO Roelof Joosten and Chairman Engro Corporation Hussain Dawood met with Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif to jointly discuss possible opportunities to develop the dairy industry in the country through knowledge transfer and provision of nutritious value-added products amongst others.

The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price for raw milk for February 2017 is 35.00 euros per 100 kilogrammes of milk. The guaranteed price increases with 0.50 euros compared to January (34.50).
