Recently, the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi) in Brussels tested and inspected various products in connection with the Superior Taste Awards. iTQi is the leading organisation dedicated to testing and promoting superior foods and drinks. For assessing foods and drinks, iTQi works closely together with renowned chefs, sommeliers and drinks experts, who are selected in cooperation with the most famous European culinary institutes and sommelier organisations.
Zijerveld sent the panel North Holland Gouda cheeses of three ages to be included in the contest, being young, matured and fully matured. On Monday 11 June, these three entries were awarded with three golden stars, the maximum award to be attained.

North Holland Gouda cheese is made from 100% Holland meadow milk at the FrieslandCampina cheese plant in Lutjewinkel (the Netherlands). The origin of North Holland Gouda is safeguarded by the Protected Designation of Origin of the European Union and recognisable at its Red Seal’
