This week Roelof Joosten, COO FrieslandCampina Ingredients, participated in a trade mission to China. Under the direction of prime minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands, about 70 companies and organisations visited China. Amongst them were a number of companies from the agricultural business.
During the visit a Sino-Dutch Agriculture & Food Seminar was held, during which Roelof Joosten spoke about the goals and progress within the Sino-Dutch Dairy Development Centre. The SDDDC was set up by the China Agricultural University (CAU), Wageningen UR and Royal FrieslandCampina N.V., in the context of strengthening dairy cooperation between China and the Netherlands. It aims to improve the food safety, quality and productivity of the Chinese dairy chain by sharing Dutch dairy expertise. The Dutch Rabobank signed an agreement indicating Rabobank will support the Sino-Dutch Dairy Development Centre with talent cultivation, research and sharing know-how. Rabobank is specialized in financial solutions for the agricultural business.
