The Green Quest at FrieslandCampina DMV in Veghel is officially launched on Saturday 30 August. The Green Quest is a quest for solutions for companies to produce in a more green and sustainable way. External experts on sustainability and employees of FrieslandCampina brainstormed together about sustainability.
During an inspiring day, the team of experts on sustainability got to know Herman Sips (Managing Director DMV), Bob Bont (Director Supply Chain DMV) and Frank van Ooijen (Director Sustainability & Corporate Communication) and their ambitions regarding sustainability. In two rounds sustainable ideas for the company in Veghel were discussed, also with input from employees. Some ideas that came up: efficiency improvements for the supply chain, how to re-use (waste) water, how to better share best practices, how to organize internal crowdfunding and how to best make use of proteins.
On Friday 29 August the extension of the production location in Veghel has been officially opened. The plant has been extended with capacity for receiving and de-creaming raw milk. The Green Team members enjoyed a guided tour to see the new production location.
At FrieslandCampina we strive to achieve the growth of our activities in a climate-neutral manner. We focus on energy efficiency, CO2 reduction and the use of sustainable energy. The production location FrieslandCampina DMV contributes to this with two concrete objectives towards the year 2020:
- First, the company wants to reduce the use of energy, water and waste water with at least 25% in 2020, compared to the year 2010.
- Second, the company also wants to make sure that 10% of their revenue comes from sustainable propositions that help their customers to realize their own sustainable business objectives.
The Green Quest supports the ambitions of FrieslandCampina, but still the experts would like to inspire the company to go a little bit further. Everyone can share their ideas to contribute to the sustainable objectives. Some nice ideas already have been sent and there is room for many more! Please post a tweet with #thegreenquest, send a email to firstname.lastname@example.org or share your suggestions via Yammer. The person or team with the best idea will get the opportunity to present the idea to the Green Team and will get a special mention on the website. The deadline is 22 September 2014.
