Successes for FrieslandCampina in Wisconsin Cheese contest

FrieslandCampina Cheese plants have won prizes at the 30th International Cheese Contest in Wisconsin (USA) that was held on 18 and 19 March. This international cheese contest is held once every two years.

The cheese production plants Marum, Steenderen and Gerkesklooster won golden medals for Edam matured cheese, Gouda light extra matured cheese and a Frico Chevrette mild, a young goat cheese.

Silver medals were won by Bedum and also Steenderen and Gerkesklooster with a Kroon Maasdam cheese, Gouda light matured cheese and a Cablanca Orange Windmill, a young goat cheese.

Finally, the cheese production plant Lutjewinkel and Zijerveld won bronze. Lutjewinkel won twice with a Noord-Hollandse Gouda BOB low-salt cheese in the class Gouda young and in de class Gouda with added ingredients they won with a Noord-Hollandse Gouda cumin cheese. In the class semi-hard goat cheese Zijerveld won with the Amaltura Special Old, a ripened goat cheese.
