On Monday afternoon, a cheque in the amount of 288,059.13 euro was presented on behalf of FrieslandCampina to the DJs in the Glass House in Enschede by Joost Dijkstra, brand manager Campina, Carien de Bas, marketing PR manager and Maurice Hanegraaf, member dairy farmer from Maren-Kessel.
Campina encouraged Dutch consumers to help out through the sale of special 3FM Serious Request action packs. A total of 68 Campina products were revamped in 3FM Serious Request packaging. The supermarket chains Deen, Hoogvliet, Emté, Vomar, Dirk, Bas, Digros, Plus, C1000, Jumbo and Albert Heijn also did their bit through various additional campaigns involving the Campina brand.
The member dairy farmers and staff members initiated a diversity of wide-ranging campaigns to collect money. Christmas cards were sold, sponsored bike rides organised, various auctions were held and numerous other activities were set in motion. An overview of all these efforts can be viewed at www.kominactie.nl/frieslandcampina.
3FM Serious Request
This year, 3FM Serious Request is raising money for the smallest among us: the millions of babies worldwide that are in need of help. The Red Cross will use the money collected to provide medical aid during deliveries, train obstetricians, inform mothers about pregnancy and childbirth, set up maternity clinics and lots more. An important part of reducing infant mortality is good health care and guiding future mothers during pregnancy. Nutritional advice is also an integral part of that care.
