On Thursday, 7 October 2010, Royal FrieslandCampina won the P&O Proffie Award. Jaap de Vries and Jeroen Elfers accepted the award on behalf of FrieslandCampina during a ceremony at Kasteel Amerongen.
The P&O Proffie is the professional award for excellent HR policy in the Netherlands and is organised by HR professionals. This year, 21 companies and organisations entered.
A decision on which company or organisation had delivered the most compelling and structural results with its HR policy was based on audits, which also involved FrieslandCampina’s Central Works Council in the Netherlands, and presentations by the five finalists: KLM, NS, Heinz, Imtech and FrieslandCampina.
The jury, which was made up of leading HR professionals from the business world, government, the scientific community, consultancies and the media, hailed FrieslandCampina’s HR policy as a fantastic example of how a merger and integration between what were traditionally arch rivals could be a real success, with the HR discipline playing a crucial role. The focus was directed at the interaction between the management, HR and employee representation.
