The economic crisis created tough trading conditions for primary brand products in Dutch supermarkets in 2009. There were significantly fewer new products in the shops and the new products that did appear generated weekly sales of EUR 100,000 far less frequently. But Mona performed really well in 2009, as revealed in the top 20 successful innovations compiled by the market research bureau, IRI Nederland.
Three new Mona products feature in the top 20: Mona ChocoDreams came third. Mona Oud-Hollandsche Pudding reached number eight and Mona’s light Slagroompudding with strawberry sauce was 12th. Taksi Tropical Fruit with no added sugar was 17th on the list of successful new products. And Vifit Superfruit reached 19th place. A total of five FrieslandCampina products feature in the top 20 innovations.
