International cheese awards for FrieslandCampina

FrieslandCampina’s cheese range has clinched six awards, including two golds at the 2009 World Cheese Awards.

FrieslandCampina, as manufacturer of traditional and speciality Dutch cheeses, won two Gold awards for its Frans Hals (extra matured goat cheese) and Frico Edam mild varieties, Silver for its Frico Chevrette Mild and three Bronze awards for its Vermeer (delicate full flavoured Gouda with fruity taste), Frico Old Dutch Master (vintage Gouda) and Rembrandt (vintage Gouda).

The annual awards are held as part of a two day festival by The Guild of Fine Food to reward excellence in cheese making and attracted 15,000 cheese buffs. The Friesland Campina cheeses were judged by 150 experts from across 24 countries with 2,470 varieties from 34 nations to choose from.
