FrieslandCampina starts producing more sustainable PlanetProof cheese

Following a successful introduction of Campina dairy with the "On the way to PlanetProof" quality mark in December 2018, FrieslandCampina now makes the step towards cheese. Milner is the first Dutch cheese brand that will be sold under the "PlanetProof" quality mark.

Dairy farmers rewarded more for sustainability efforts

Dairy farmers in the province of Drenthe (NL) now receive more remuneration for their efforts in the area of biodiversity. The province of Drenthe and Rabobank have agreed to grant rewards on the basis of similar biodiversity criteria as FrieslandCampina. This will make it more attractive for member dairy farmers to take even more sustainable initiatives.

FrieslandCampina guaranteed price February 2019: 36.50 euros per 100 kilos of milk

The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price increases by 0.25 euros compared to the guaranteed price of last month (36.25 euros), based on the expectation that prices for raw milk paid by the reference companies will increase, because of rising basic dairy prices.

The FrieslandCampina organic guaranteed price remains the same as the organic guaranteed price of last month (48.00 euros), based on the expectation that prices for organic raw milk paid by the reference companies remain stable.

New energy supply for FrieslandCampina Veghel

Six bundles of three cables as thick as a fist and with a total length of 54 kilometres in the ground; The FrieslandCampina Ingredients location in Veghel (NL) has a new, sustainable energy supply that is fed by green electricity. The new energy supply reduces the CO2 emission of the location in Veghel by 20 percent.

The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price decreases by 1.00 euros compared to the guaranteed price of last month (37.25 euros) as a result of low basic milk prices.

First PlanetProof milk now available

The first milk cartons with the 'On the way to PlanetProof' label are now in the stores. This allows consumers to choose more sustainable milk that meets high demands in terms of animal welfare, nature and climate. This label from Stichting Milieukeur sets the standard for a broader sustainability approach for agriculture and horticulture. FrieslandCampina is the first dairy company that meets the requirements.
