Royal FrieslandCampina completes acquisition IDB Belgium
Strengthening market position in packed cheeses
Royal FrieslandCampina successfully completes acquisition of IDB Belgium. The company from Genk is a pre-packer of hard and semi-hard cheeses and packs cheeses for a number of international clients. It also sells its products domestically and exports to eleven countries. With this acquisition FrieslandCampina expands its market position with pre-packed cheese for both retailers and the food service industry (catering and restaurants).
IDB Belgium will become part of FrieslandCampina Cheese, Butter & Milkpowder but continue to operate independently. It has one production facility that comprises fifteen packaging lines with a large variety of slicing and packaging forms and size options, from 15 grams to six kilograms. The plant employs around 160 people.
