Royal Friesland Foods N.V.’s revenue was up from 2.4 billion to 2.7 billion euros in the first half of 2008. Profit for the period was down from 79 million to 29 million euros.

The European Commission has decided for a three-week extension for the final decision on the proposed merger between Friesland Foods and Campina. The two companies believe that it is in their interests the Commission will use this extra time to fully take on board the economic and consumer benefits stemming from the intended merger. Phase 2 enquiries regularly entail extensions to the decision-making deadline.

From 31 December 2008 Friesland Foods Professional will transfer part
of its sales and marketing activities for ice cream and milkshake mixes
in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to Briceland. Friesland Foods
Professional will continue the ice cream and milkshake mix activities
for international chains.
