    - On 2 February 2012 Royal FrieslandCampina and Danube Foods Group, owned by Salford Capital Partners, announced that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding Royal FrieslandCampina’s intended acquisition of Imlek and Mlekara Subotica, two dairy companies in the Western Balkans. The parties were unable to reach agreement on the terms of the transaction and have therefore agreed to end the talks.

    Amersfoort, the Netherlands - According to research conducted by the National Cooperative Council (Nationale Coöperatieve Raad), with revenue of € 9.6 billion, FrieslandCampina is the largest agricultural cooperative in Europe. Eleven of the 100 largest farmer-led businesses in Europe are Dutch businesses. Only France (29) and Germany (15) have more cooperatives.
