Triplet: from toddler to teenager, an enriched milk for every age
Research has shown that children develop differently at every age and their nutritional needs also vary widely at each stage of development. FrieslandCampina found a fitting solution for a number of countries in Southeast Asia: customised milk. Three distinct types of enriched UHT milk for three different age groups: toddlers (1-3 years), children (4-12 years) and teenagers (13 years and older). This concept, known as Triplet, was introduced in Thailand (Foremost) at the end of 2010, followed by Malaysia (Dutch Lady) and Indonesia (Frisian Flag). These are the three leading UHT milk brands in these countries.
Nutritional needs
We know from research that the nutritional needs of children change as they grow older. Milk is naturally rich in nutrients that children and adults need, but it is also suitable as a basis for further nutrient enrichment, a practice which is quite common in Asian countries.

Based on our knowledge of consumer wishes and the needs of the human body, we developed Triplet: three varieties of milk for three age groups.
- Kid, milk for toddlers (1 - 3 years). For these ages it is important to stimulate growth, brain development and healthy eyes. The Kid variety milk is enriched with calcium and also contains DHA and Omega 3, 6 and 9;
- School, the milk variety for children (4 - 12 years). Boosting children’s energy and helping them to cope better with learning is important for them. And as parents attach importance to stimulating the growth and brain development of their children, the School variety is enriched with calcium, DHA, Omega 3, and 9 and vitamin B2.
- Teen+, milk for teenagers and adults (13 years and older). Teen+ was developed for smart teenagers and adults who want to look good. Teen+ is enriched with DHA, Omega 3 and vitamins A, C and E.
