Chocomel Hot: quick, easy and delicious
Chocomel has been a consumer favourite in the Netherlands for over 75 years. This creamy chocolate milk has always been available as a delicious cool drink, but it’s equally tasty when hot. In 2007 FrieslandCampina introduced Chocomel Hot-cups to enable people to prepare hot Chocomel at home quickly and easily. These cups are specially designed to fit Senseo coffee makers. Hot Chocomel has been available in cafes and restaurants for some time. With ‘Chocomel Hot’, consumers can now make hot chocolate milk at home to this same high standard. FrieslandCampina has developed a patented system consisting of Chocomel cups and a special cup holder for the Senseo-pad machines.
Extra layer of foam
The cups can be fitted into the Senseo coffee maker using the special holder. The Senseo injects hot water into the cup, which contains a shot of Chocomel concentrate. This is then mixed with the hot water in the cup’s special mixing chamber to create an extra layer of foam.
Huge success
Chocomel Hot has been hugely successful since it was launched in October 2007. You can find Chocomel Hot on the coffee-pad shelf in the supermarket. Chocomel Hot-cups are made in Kalkar, Germany, where FrieslandCampina has opened a new production line.
