FrieslandCampina in Indonesia
FrieslandCampina has an important presence in Indonesia, both in the market and in the production of dairy. Young and old are familiar with the dairy products of Frisian Flag, Yes! and Omela. Our operating company FrieslandCampina Indonesia is active in this Asian nation with consumer products. The operating company FrieslandCampina Kievit, which produces (functional) ingredients in powder form, has a production location in Indonesia.
With 240 million inhabitants, Indonesia is one of the most populous countries in the world. More than half of its inhabitants are under age 35. There are many families with young children, which explains FrieslandCampina Indonesia’s great success with infant and children’s nutrition and with its strong focus on health and balanced nutrition.
FrieslandCampina has been active in Indonesia for almost ninety years. In the capital city Jakarta, FrieslandCampina Indonesia has two production locations where we manufacture long-life dairy, such as powdered milk, drinking milk and sweetened, condensed milk. FrieslandCampina Indonesia processes 600 million litres of milk annually, part of which is supplied by local dairy farmers. Each day they drive their milk buses to one of the many collection stations from where the milk is then transported to small cooperatives. Following inspection, FrieslandCampina then processes the milk.
FrieslandCampina Kievit has had a production location in Salatiga, on central Java, since 2005. Here, the company produces ingredients for the food industry just like its counterparts in the Netherlands and Germany. Asia is a growth market for ingredients such as creamers, fat powders and encapsulated (packed) functional ingredients.
