Encapsulated nutritional oils for enriching foods
Producers of foods are seeking to add functionality to their products in response to the global health trend. For many of these producers, encapsulation is an important technology to facilitate the application of functional and often sensitive ingredients in their products.

One important example of healthy ingredients that can be added is LC-PUFAs (Long Chain Poly Unsaturated Fatty Acids). These healthy fatty acids - called DHA and ARA on the packagings of baby and infant food - have beneficial properties, such as promoting the brain development of children.
Under the Kievit brand name we not only supply encapsulated healthy fatty acids to producers of baby food, but also to producers of medical foods. Together with our customers we also look at how encapsulation can be used for the application of other functional ingredients in their products.
