
We’re a young company in name, but at FrieslandCampina we have a long history of strong, sustainable performance. We’ve been entrepreneurs and innovators from our beginnings in 1879 as the world’s first dairy co-operative.
Today we’re a leading global dairy company, with more than 19,484 employees and 14,829 member farmers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, annual turnover of EUR 9.0bn and production and sales locations in 25 countries. Every day millions of people choose milk and dairy products – people just like you and us.
An important aspect of our performance is our milk price model for member farmers, which aims to pay our farmers a milk price that is leading in northwest Europe. As a consequence, we must maintain strong performance.
Our milk price model consist of a guaranteed milk price, the average of milk prices paid by other companies in Germany, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands, and a performance bonus based on FrieslandCampina’s profit.
We add profits not paid to member farmers to the company equity and members’ capital. This strengthens the company for further development.

Higher net revenue and net profit
- Net revenue increased 10% to 8,972 million euro (2009: 8,160 million euro) due to improved sales of consumer products in Asia and Africa and special ingredients as well as price increases
- Higher volumes in Asia and Africa. In Europe declining dairy consumption put pressure on volume. The market share of most brands were expanded or maintained
- Operating profit up by 68% to 434 million euro (2009: 258 million euro)
- Solvency up by 2.4 percentage points to 39.1%
- Profit up by 57% to 285 million euro
- Cash flow from operating activities down by 342 million euro to 444 million euro as a result of an increase in working capital due to higher prices of raw material and end products
Milk price rises due to higher guaranteed price and higher performance premium
- Guaranteed price up by 22.7% to 32.39 euro per 100 kilos of milk (excl. VAT, at 4.41% fat and 3.47% protein)
- Performance premium more than doubled to 1.23 euro per 100 kilos
- Milk price for the Cooperative’s member dairy farmers up 25% to 33.62 euro per 100 kilos (excl. VAT, at 4.41% fat and 3.47% protein)

- Chocomel has been Holland’s best loved chocolate milk since 1932.
- Landliebe is a traditional dairy brand with a rich flavour and natural composition that is extremely popular in Germany and Austria.
- In Russia, Fruttis is one of the biggest fruit yoghurt brands for fortified fruit yoghurts and yoghurts drinks.
- Botergoud is the leading butter brand in the Netherlands.
- Pöttyös is a leading brand of curd-based chocolate snacks in Hungary and Romania.
- Milli is a well known dairy brand in Hungary and Romania.

- Friso infant and toddler nutrition is a leading brand in Vietnam, with strong positions in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Russia and other markets.
- Dutch Lady is one of the biggest brands for dairy and infant and toddler nutrition available in Malaysia and Vietnam, thanks to its blend of nutritional care and great value for money.
- Foremost is an ever-popular range of milk, soy drink, yoghurt and condensed milk products fortified with vitamins, minerals and other benefits for Thailand.
- Our wide range of cheeses, including well known brands like Frico and Milner, is enjoyed by millions of people in more than 60 countries.
