Over the course of 20-plus years, Betagen has developed into a household name in Thailand. Since 1985, it has stood for a tasty, health-enhancing dairy drink that contains beneficial bacteria. Betagen Thailand is a joint venture between FrieslandCampina and the Thai company Thai Advanced Food, with registered offices in Bangkok. Betagen Thailand is a division of our business group Consumer Products International.
Betagen Thailand is a leading player in Thailand in the market for health-enhancing yoghurt drinks; the fastest-growing market segment in Thailand. The history of the company dates back to 1975 when the precursor of the present-day Betagen began with the production of food items. A yoghurt drink under the brand name Betagen has been on the market since 1985. Nowadays, in addition to yoghurt drinks, yoghurt in cups is also available.
The Betagen products are made from pasteurised milk combined with healthy bacteria. These bacteria also affect the lactose in the milk, giving the products their characteristic fresh taste which is different from other milk products.
