Cheese and butter are popular dairy classics around the world. Whether consumed alone or used in a dish. Many millions of people in over 90 countries - consumers and professionals alike - eat and use our cheese and butter. Our FrieslandCampina Cheese, Butter & Milkpowderbusiness unit develops, produces and sells a broad range of cheese and butter products. We are mainly active in semi-hard Gouda, Edam and Maasdam cheeses and in butter, milk fat fractions and butter oil.

With an annual turnover of nearly EUR 2.4 billion, FrieslandCampina Cheese & Butter accounted for over 23 per cent of FrieslandCampina’s overall turnover in 2010.
We are a major player in the cheese and butter segment. Each year we process nearly 400 million kilos of cream into butter and 4.5 billion kilos of milk into cheese. Most of the cream and milk comes from our member dairy farmers in the Netherlands.
The Cheese, Butter & Milkpowder business group comprises the following operating companies: FrieslandCampina Cheese, FrieslandCampina Cheese Specialties and FrieslandCampina Butter & Milkpowder.
The business group has two R&D departments, one in Tilburg and one in Wolvega (both in the Netherlands).
